"My mother and I recently had the experience of working with one of your realtors, Mr. Billy Young, in the sale of my mother’s home at 2006 McKinley Avenue. We began the process of trying to sell the home back in January 2008 after the death of my step-father. As you can imagine, this was a most difficult time for my mother. We first hired a realtor who was a friend. After about six months, only one person had even looked at the house. We then decided to utilize the services of your company since we knew you specialize in selling homes in older Montgomery neighborhoods.

When I first called your office, I spoke with Billy. From the very beginning, I sensed a real commitment on his part to do everything he could to help us sell the house. Billy was always courteous and understanding of my mother’s wishes. He kept us updated throughout the process and made suggestions as to how we could make a better presentation to potential buyers. We always felt that Billy was doing his best to help us and he was always sensitive to my mother’s concerns.

In June, my mother began the process of moving to a retirement community. I expressed to Billy that we really needed to sell the house and asked him what else we could do to speed up the process. We had already lowered the price. I was willing to lower it even more, but Billy wisely suggested we wait. He believed we were already competitively priced. Over a couple of weeks, there were several showings of the house. We then received an offer. Billy did a wonderful job of keeping us informed during the negotiating process. When we needed someone to make repairs, Billy suggested who we might use for those services. Billy even handled making arrangements for the repairs to be done. He agreed to either meet the repairmen or have someone meet the repairmen so I would not have to take time away from work. We believe that we obtained quality repairs at fair prices. When we had an issue with the buyer wanting some additional expensive work done, Billy skillfully negotiated a solution that worked well for us and the buyer. We closed the sale on July 31 and my mother was happy with her profit from the house. We can truly say this was a happy ending to what began as a very stressful situation.

I know that Billy and your company are in the business of helping people buy and sell homes. I’m sure Billy would probably say he was just doing his job. However, there is a difference in someone just doing a job and someone who cares about the job they do and the people they serve. Billy Young obviously cares about the job he does and the people he serves. Billy’s actions match his words. Based on our experience, Billy is honest, ethical and professional. He showed compassion and understanding to someone who has suffered a great loss and was going through the stress of selling her home of 33 years. We will certainly recommend Billy and your company to anyone we know who needs a realtor.

We would also like to commend you for operating such a fine company. While the home was on the market, I received many e-mails from your staff updating us on the market situation in the Capital Heights neighborhood as well as how often my mother’s house was viewed on the internet. My mother also received a personal call from you which really made her feel good about you and your company.
